An Albany police officer was arrested today by his fellow officers on charges of assault.

Woody Riboul, 29, has been suspended without pay from the department, which he joined a year ago.

Police said that Riboul’s girlfriend called 911 at 4:50 a.m. Sunday to say she had been assaulted. She told officers that he attacked her during an argument in the parking lot at 411 Washington Ave. Extension.

On Monday, Albany detectives arrested Riboul, charging him with misdemeanor assault. They said the investigation is ongoing.
