A Rensselaer man was arrested on felony drug charges Saturday night when his car broke down on the Thruway.
State police troopers noticed a vehicle apparently disabled on the side of the road.
When talking to the driver, Matthew Nobles, 30, of 149 Thornberry Lane, Rensselaer, they allegedly smelled marijuana.
Police say Nobles gave up a plastic bag of marijuana, and a search of his vehicle turned up a second bag of marijuana in a book bag, 3.25 ounces of cocaine in a box on the floor behind the driver’s seat and $1,770 in cash.
The bags of marijuana totaled approximately 6.5 ounces.
Noble faces charges of felony criminal possession of a controlled substance along with misdemeanor criminal possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Nobles was arraigned in the Town of Root Court and remanded to the Montgomery County Jail without bail and is scheduled to reappear at a later date.
