Scott Fedorczyk, 49, of Niskayuna and Matthew J. Many, 49, of Northville were both taken into custody after troopers allegedly found a white powdery substance splayed out on the center armrest of their vehicle, police said. Investigators said Fedorczyk, the driver, had a blood alcohol content of 0.16 percent.
Troopers initially stopped Fedorczyk for driving erratically on County Highway 112 in Caroga around 1:35 a.m. Sunday. When they approached the vehicle, troopers said they could see the substance between the men.
Both were ordered from the vehicle. Police said they later found a small plastic bag of powder in Many's pants pocket that tested positive for cocaine.
Fedorczyk was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation, and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Many was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Both men were released on appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Caroga Town Court on Sept. 9.
