Schenectady man allegedly destroyed property

A Schenectady man allegedly destroyed nearly $2,000 worth of his girlfriend’s belongings Friday morn

A city man allegedly destroyed nearly $2,000 worth of his girlfriend’s belongings Friday morning and violated an order of protection in the process, authorities said.

Jason Arthur, 36, of McClellan Street, is accused of pouring bleach, detergent and soap over the items, which belonged to his girlfriend and children, according to papers filed in court. He is also accused of destroying a television.

He faces one count of second-degree criminal mischief, a felony, along with misdemeanor counts of criminal contempt and trespassing. The contempt count relates to allegations he violated a stay-away order of protection.
