Saratoga man accused of burglarizing restaurant

Items allegedly stolen from Dango’s Bar and Restaurant were recovered during a routine traffic stop

Items allegedly stolen from Dango’s Bar and Restaurant were recovered during a routine traffic stop early Thursday morning.

Patrolman Mark Leffler was making a routine stop on Lake Avenue, near Longwood Drive, around 4 a.m., when police said he noticed items in the vehicle that appeared out of place and possibly stolen. Police said the investigation determined the items were stolen from Dango’s and management from the restaurant confirmed that the items had been stolen.

Daniel J. Provost, 22, of Daniels Road, the driver of the car, was charged with third-degree burglary, a D felony, and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, an A misdemeanor. He was held pending an arraignment in City Court.
