Albany police are investigating a shooting that occurred late Sunday on Second Street.

Albany police are investigating a shooting that occurred late Sunday on Second Street.

Police said they were called about 11:50 p.m. to the 600 block of Second Street and learned a man had been shot and was taken to Albany Memorial Hospital by private vehicle. The unidentified victim told police he was sitting inside his vehicle when three unknown men approached the driver’s side door and shot him, police said.

The victim, a 40-year-old Albany man, sustained three gunshot wounds, police said. He was transferred to Albany Medical Center and is listed in stable condition, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Albany detectives at 462-8039.
