Investigators are trying to determine what prompted a fire that ripped through a vacant palatial home on East Lydius Street early this morning.
State fire investigators were pouring through the remains of the 10,500 square-foot residence at 3494 E. Lydius St. this morning, but still haven’t determined a cause. Fire broke out at the structure around 1:30 a.m. and was brought under control by crews about two hours later.
Fire officials said the home was vacant at the time of the blaze and there were no injuries. The six-bedroom, seven-bathroom mansion was recently listed for sale by Coldwell Banker at an asking price of $599,000.
