Zurlo’s experience and integrity is what Saratoga County needs
As a local law enforcement officer for over 16 years, I felt it necessary to write regarding the upcoming election for Saratoga County Sheriff.
As county residents, we are fortunate to have a very professional sheriff’s office, one in which I am honored to be a part of. The sheriff’s office currently has over 100 sworn deputies, sergeants, investigators and lieutenants.
This is in addition to administration, communications, corrections and civil employees. All county officers are very well trained, the sheriff’s department technology has advanced significantly over the years, and these things continue to improve, however there is always room for improvement and new ideas.
All of the candidates that are running for sheriff are good candidates and have vast experience, but only one candidate has what it takes to continue to take the sheriff’s office in the right direction. Michael H. Zurlo is a man with over 30 years experience in the sheriff’s office, having held the ranks of deputy, sergeant, investigator, lieutenant and senior investigator.
He’s a man with great integrity and has true passion for our sheriff’s office and knows what changes are needed. Michael H. Zurlo is a man who is endorsed not only by current Sheriff James Bowen, but by Law Enforcement Union Council 82, and the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Deputy Sheriffs Benevolent Association as well. Michael Zurlo wants what is best not only for the men and woman who serve and protect you, but most importantly, the citizens of the county.
On primary day, Sept. 10, please vote for Michael H. Zurlo for the next Saratoga County sheriff.

Proctors employee is a gem in a gem
I have been an usher at Proctors for many years [and] I would like to say what a pleasant job it is. With the improvements to the stage at Proctors, plus the ability to bring in larger shows, CEO Philip Morris has really led Proctors to a new level of attendance.
Since I have volunteered through this period in time, I would like to bring to the surface another member of the Proctors family. That is Cindy LaRoe, who is the audience services manger, the person behind the scenes. Cindy is the person who, after Philip Morris, gets things going; she is the one who is responsible to have it run smoothly.
Show after show, the ushers, bartenders and other staff of volunteers at Proctors watch Cindy put her hard work and dedication into the job she does so well. Proctors and the volunteers are fortunate to have her because she is a master at what she does.

Elect Steve Gottmann for Malta Town Justice
I’m writing this to support Steve in his bid to be the Malta Town Justice.
Steve is exceptionally qualified to impartially administer justice, based on his education and experience in the law. I believe our town justice should be equally qualified and knowledgeable of the law as the attorneys who will appear before him, representing their clients.
I known and have worked with Steve, and I can attest to his calm, deliberateness, thoughtfulness and professionalism. He truly has the best interest of our town and citizens in mind.
Please join me in voting for Steve on Sept. 10.
Thanks to Muny’s support, fund raiser is a success
A big thank you to Schenectady Municipal Golf Course and, in particular, Matt Daley (golf pro) for all their help with the H2o 4 Africa Equals Life 2013 Annual Youth Golf Clinic and Charity Golf Tournament held Aug. 7-10.
Matt and his staff were extremely helpful and supportive during the youth clinic and tournament. The entire program went so smoothly. His professionalism and willingness to help us was a refresher this year.
Each year H2o 4 Africa Equals Life continues to advance its mission of bringing safe, clean water to the people of Africa by raising money to build water wells in countries served by the Peace Corps. To date, H2o 4 Africa Equals Life has helped fund over 40 wells in Africa. Through this program we have seen many lives changed for the better.
