Democrats have challenged the Alliance Party petitions of City Council candidate Joseph Lazzari.
On Wednesday, the state Supreme Court of Schenectady County will hear arguments on the issue. If Lazzari’s petitions are thrown out, he will lose the Alliance Party emblem on the ballot.
No matter what happens Wednesday, he will be on the Republican and Conservative lines. Because he has two lines, he cannot appear on the Alliance Party line. In that case, successful petitioners are given an emblem to show that they have been endorsed by the party.
