ALBANY — Steven Calitri’s 41-yard field goal with 17 seconds to play Saturday night gave Central Connecticut a 20-17 non-conference win over UAlbany at Bob Ford Field.

The loss dropped the Great Danes to 1-3. They are 0-2 in their new stadium.

Omar Osbourne’s second touchdown run of the game gave the Great Danes a 17-10 lead with 16 seconds left in the third quarter.

The Blue Devils, also 1-3, tied it on a 59-yard touchdown run by Rob Hollomon 41 seconds into the fourth. Hollomon gained 145 yards on 20 carries for the game.

Calitri started the scoring with a 31-yard field goal. The Great Danes scored 10 points off two CCSU turnovers in a two-minute span to take a 10-3 lead to open the second quarter.

Tom Riordan kicked a 39-yard field goal, and then Osbourne ran for a seven-yard touchdown.

TROY — The Engineers’ defense recorded six quarterback sacks and allowed a school-record minus-42 yards rushing to beat the Spartans at East Campus Stadium.

Senior defensive lineman Ted Abriel (Bethlehem Central) made nine tackles, including two quarterback sacks, to lead the RPI defense.

RPI (3-0) was led offensively by quarterback Jeff Avery, who completed 13 of 24 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns, and by

Andrew Amato, who ran for 63 yards and a touchdown.

Castleton State was paced by quarterback Tyler Higley, who completed 29 of 54 passes for 313 yards.
