Glenville police are re-routing traffic off Freemans Bridge Road after a single-car accident into a utility pole downed wires on the major thoroughfare late this morning.

The crash, which occurred in the vicinity of the Skyport Restaurant and Freemans Bridge Sports, has closed all four lanes of the roadway for more than a half hour. Glenville police said the road is remaining closed until utility crews from National Grid can clear wires.

Authorities were unsure when the road will reopen, but suggested it could be a couple hours. The closure has caused traffic snarls in the area.

Details about the accident weren’t immediately available, however no serious injuries were reported.
