A Stillwater man who allegedly physically abused a woman on Friday while she held an infant in her arms has been arrested and faces multiple charges, according to police.
Stillwater police report that Jared Putnam, 21, repeatedly slapped, punched, kicked and choked the woman while she held the 8-week-old child.
He also allegedly damaged her cellphone to prevent her from calling the police.
Putnam fled with the infant, but police say they located the baby, unharmed, in Stillwater shortly after the incident.
Putnam was arrested the following day and charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He was also served with an order of protection barring all contact with the victim and the infant.
