A five-month investigation by the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office netted an alleged heroin trafficker.
Omar D. Rich, 39, of Queensbury, was indicted and arrested on Monday for two counts each of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a B felony, third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a B felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The charges stem from allegations that he supplied heroin throughout Saratoga County.
The investigation was conducted by the county's Narcotic Unit and the Warren County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit located Rich during a traffic stop in Queensbury on Monday, when he was taken into custody.
During that vehicle stop, police said, he was in possession of additional drugs, which will likely result in additional charges in Warren County.
Rich was arraigned today in Saratoga County Court and was remanded to the county jail in lieu of bail.
