Soccer roundup: Spartans overpower Scotties, 6-1

Ryan Capron and Matt Nocito both scored a pair of goals Thursday as Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake downed Ballston Spa, 6-1, in a Suburban Council boys’ soccer game.

Paul Boni added a goal and assist, Nick Hill scored the other goal and both Cormac Carr and Wyatt Sawyer assisted on two goals for the 6-7-1 Spartans.

Nick Comiskey scored for the Scotties.

Chris Schmid scored a goal and assisted on Miles Burbank’s goal as Shenendehowa topped Saratoga Springs, 2-1.

The Plainsmen improved to 11-2-1. Noah Van Zandt had the Blue Streaks’ goal.

Shaker maintained its lead over Shenendehowa for the top spot in the North by shutting out Niskayuna, 1-0.

Mike Sposito had the goal for the 12-2-0 Blue Bison. Niskayuna fell to 9-4-1.

Matteo Curto and Matt Walsh had goals as Colonie snapped Guilderland’s nine-game winning streak with a 2-1 win. Andrew Burns scored the Dutchmen’s goal.

Trevor De Las Alas scored three goals, Ethan Strauss scored twice and had an assist and Matt Henning had a goal and two assists as Bethlehem downed Averill Park.

Jordan Garone scored as Columbia beat Mohonasen, 1-0.

Justin Estremera, Jhon Rojas, Zabe Popalozi and Brendan Backstrom had goals as Schenectady topped Catholic Central, 4-1, in the Big 10. The Patriots are 3-5-1 in the league.

Erik Kwizera scored to get Albany past LaSalle, 1-0, and Troy beat CBA, 1-0, on an own goal in other Big 10 games.

John Moutopoulos and Jordan Lockridge both had two goals and an assist, and Dami Osofisan had a goal and a pair of assists as Alb­any Academy downed Cobleskill-Richmondville, 7-1, in the Colonial Council.

Dylan Hensel’s two goals got Voorheesville past Watervliet.

4-0, and both Dakota Franklin and Anwar Abdalen had a pair of goals as Lansingburgh beat Cohoes, 4-0, elsewhere in the Colonial.

Logan Ackley’s two goals helped Broadalbin-Perth (9-3-0, 11-3-0) get past Hudson Falls, 6-0, in the Foothills Council.

Schuylerville went to 8-0-2 atop the Wasaren League by beating Tamarac, 3-1, as Max Comer, Ryan Ekstrom and Matt Saddlemier had goals.

Ian Cepiel had all four goals as 7-2-1 Stillwater topped Hoosic Valley, 4-2.

Bianco leads Streaks

Ellery Bianco scored a pair of goals as Saratoga Springs shut out Shenendehowa, 3-0, in a Suburban Council game.

The win gives the Lady Streaks a 7-6-1 league record. Shenendehowa is now 10-2-1.

Alyssa Kogelmann, Rebecca Golderman and Breanne Ford all had goals as Guilderland topped Colonie, 3-0. The reigning Class AA champs have won 10 straight, and are 13-1-0.

Morgan Burchhardt had a goal and assist, and Casey Doherty and Danielle Sloan also had goals, helping 7-6-1 Burnt Hills top Ballston Spa, 3-0.

Kylie Arno had all three goals as Columbia knocked off Mohonasen, 3-0, and Averill Park held Bethlehem to a 0-0 tie, the second straight scoreless draw for the Lady Eagles.

Julia Rossi scored a pair of goals, and six teammates had one each, as unbeaten Schalmont rolled past Fonda-Fultonville, 8-0, in the Col­onial Council.

Madison Gowett’s goal in the first half helped Mechanicville play Ichabod Crane to a 1-1 tie. Sarah Erno assisted on the goal, and Kim Thompson made 17 saves for 9-4-1 Mechanicville. Jessie Mink had the goal for the 10-3-1 Lady Riders.

Lansingburgh’s Alexis Whalen and Isabella DeChairo of Cohoes had goals as those teams played to a 1-1 tie.

Morgan Loder had two goals, and Hannah Almy also scored, as Cobleskill-Richmondville edged Albany Academy, 3-2. The win was the 10th in the Colonial for the Lady Bulldogs. Val Taylor had both goals for 9-5 Academy.

Kaitlyn Colletti, Sam Filkins and Kiera Harris all had goals as Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk downed Holy Names, 3-1.

Chelsea Duncan’s three goals led Voorheesville past Watervliet, 4-0.
