Women's College Hockey: Terriers trip Dutchwomen in OT

Rebecca Russo scored on an assist from Jordan Juron with 3:13 left in overtime to send Boston University over Union College, 3-2, in a women’s hockey game Saturday afternoon at Messa Rink.

The Terriers improved to 1-0-1, while Union slides to 2-3-0 with its third straight loss.

Russo also scored the Terriers’ first goal in the game. She connected on a power-play goal at 10:59 of the opening period on an assist from Caroline Campbell.

Union got on the board late in the period, when Christine Valente connected unassisted.

Rebecca Babiak put the Dutchwomen in front, 2-1, in the third period, but Louise Warren came back with an unassisted goal with just 32 secondes left in regulation for the Terriers.

Shenae Lundberg was under pressure all afternoon and kicked out 45 shots for the Dutchwomen. Kerrin Sperry made 27 saves for Boston University.

TROY — Junior Chloe Desjardins stopped 33 of 34 shots she faced to lead the Northeastern women’s hockey team over RPI in a non-conference game at Houston Field House.

The 1-2-1 Engineers knotted the score at 6:49 of the third period on a goal by sophomore Lauren Wash.

Paige Savage had the game-winner for the Huskies.
