Girls’ soccer: Wolves prevail

Alexis Romeyn scored two goals, and Leann Clark made eight saves as Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville defeated Northville, 2-0, in a Western Athletic Conference game.

Addie Brundage and Jessi Hag-adorn assisted on the OESJ (9-2, 12-3-1) goals.

Macie Holmes and Lindsay McCarty each had a goal and an assist, and Rebekah Dean stopped five shots to carry Mekeel Christian Academy past Mayfield, 3-0.

Nicole Piglavento also scored for th Lions (6-3-1, 8-3-1).

Erica Chase piled up five goals, and Galway (6-6, 8-7) evened its WAC mark with an 8-0 victory over Sharon Springs.

Kayleigh Goergen, Shelby Suits and Felicia Snyder each had a goal and an assist for Galway.

Delaney Martin scored three goals, and Kayla Heath knocked in two as Berne-Knox-Westerlo defeated Fort Plain, 5-0.

Martin and Audrey Goodermote had assists for the Bulldogs, and Julianna Martin made six saves.

Amanda Roney scored a goal in each half, and Kiera Morgan finished with three saves in Middleburgh’s 2-0 shutout of Duanesburg.

Abby Fountain scored both goals, and Courtney Gardner made nine saves as Waterford-Halfmoon (12-0-1, 13-1-1) beat Emma Willard (10-2-2, 11-3-2) in a game matching top Central Hudson Valley League teams, 2-0.

Chelsea Kennedy and Ashley Lefebvre assisted on the goals.

Lexi Rifflebach and Madison Purcell scored three goals apiece, and unbeaten Catholic Central downed Scotia-Genville, 7-3, in a non-league game.

Kelsey Moss also tallied for the Crusaders (15-0). Maddy Carroll notched two goals for the Tartans (11-4), and Dom Puglisi also connected.
