Schenectady police are on the lookout for a black 2000 Nissan Maxima that was possibly stolen this morning on Crane Street.

A report came in around 10:25 a.m. from a man who said a man and woman had just approached him and stole his car, driving off with it toward Rotterdam.

He told police that he had pulled up to the corner of Crane and Fourth streets in the city’s Mont Pleasant neighborhood around 10 a.m. He parked his car and got out momentarily, leaving his keys in the ignition with the car running.

“He was approached by a male and female, and they exchanged some words,” said Sgt. Matthew Dearing. “Then the male and female suspects got in the vehicle and left.”

Police issued a “be on the lookout” for the vehicle, and are currently interviewing the victim.

No weapon was displayed during the incident, and no one sustained any injuries.
