The suspected culprits in more than a dozen car burglaries were arrested early Saturday.
Police responding to the area of Michael Drive around 3 a.m. following a report of suspicious individuals located two men on bicycles and began questioning them. Based on their conversation, police said, the officers determined the men were in possession of items stolen from more than a dozen cars in the area.
Kevin Leno, 29, of Ash Street, and Kevin Loubier, 23, of Vanderbilt Terrace, were arrested on multiple counts of petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, both Class A misdemeanors. Leno was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, an A misdemeanor.
They were held pending arraignment in City Court.
Police said their initial investigation determined Leno and Loubier broke into more than a dozen vehicles, but they’re asking anyone in that area who might have had items taken from their vehicle to report the theft by calling 584-1800.
