ALBANY — New York state is seeking local growers and food producers to participate in the winter farmers market at Albany's Empire State Plaza.
The market is organized by the New York State Office of General Services and is held on the Empire State Plaza Concourse each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. between Oct. 30 and April 30.
It's a grower- and producer-only market. That means participants may only sell items they have grown or produced themselves. Reselling is not permitted, and crafts and merchandise also are not allowed.
The OGS winter farmers market is part of the New York State FreshConnect program, which is designed to bring fresh food to underserved areas, improve nutrition education, and help create jobs.
