A Guatemalan who was deported in 2001 was sentenced to time served Friday for illegally re-entering

ALBANY — A Guatemalan man who was deported in 2001 was sentenced to time served Friday for illegally re-entering the United States.

Herberto Baldomero Cobon-Vasquez, 34, was living in Cobleskill when he was charged July 1, 2013, with driving without a license following a traffic accident, according to the office of U.S. Attorney Richard S. Hartunian.

U.S. District Judge Mae A. D’Agostino gave over Cobon-Vasquez to the custody of the Department of Homeland Security for deportation, according to the release.
