Classic rock stalwarts Journey and The Steve Miller Band will co-headline a show at Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Saturday, June 14.
The two San Francisco-based groups will be on the road together from May 15 through Aug. 1, with fellow San Franciscans Tower of Power also on the bill.
In 2011, Journey released its second album with singer Arnel Pineda, who was recruited in 2007 on the strength of his performances with cover band The Zoo. Journey is best known for such ’70s and ’80s hits as “Any Way You Want It” and “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
This year, The Steve Miller Band celebrated the 40th anniversary of the album “The Joker,” whose title track became a major hit for the band. The band’s last album, “Let Your Hair Down,” was also released in 2011.
The show is the first rock concert to be announced for SPAC’s 2014 season. Tickets go on sale beginning Saturday, Dec. 7, although ticket prices have not yet been announced. Visit www.journeymusic.com for more information.
