11:40 a.m., Air Force One lands at Love Field in Dallas

12:30 p.m., Shots are fired at the presidential motorcade in Dealey Plaza.

12:36 p.m., Presidential limousine reaches Parkland Hospital.

12:40 p.m., CBS anchorman Walter Cronkite interrupts programming to announce the shooting.

1:00 p.m., Kennedy is pronounced dead by doctors.

1:15 p.m., Lee Harvey Oswald shoots Officer J.D. Tippit.

1:31 p.m., Presidential press secretary Malcolm Kilduff makes official announcement of JFK’s death.

1:50 p.m., Dallas Police take Oswald into custody.

2:38 p.m., Lyndon Johnson is sworn in as the next president aboard Air Force One.

2:47 p.m., Air Force One leaves Dallas with the body of JFK.

7:10 p.m., Oswald is charged with Tippit’s murder.

Nov. 24, Sunday (all times EST)

12:08 p.m., JFK’s casket leaves the White House and heads to Capitol where it lies in state throughout the day.

12:21 p.m., Jack Ruby shoots Oswald in the basement of Dallas Police headquarters.

2:07 p.m., Oswald pronounced dead.

Nov. 25, Monday (all times EST)

9:45 a.m., JFK’s casket leaves the Capitol Rotunda.

11:14 a.m., Casket enters St. Matthew’s Church and funeral service begins.

1:54 p.m., Funeral procession arrives at Arlington National Cemetery.

2:15 p.m., Graveside service at Arlington National Cemetery concludes.
