The Canadian Pacific Holiday “Train of Lights” will make stops in Cobleskill, Delanson, Schenectady and Saratoga Springs on Nov. 27.
The stops are among about 150 that are part of this year’s journey that takes two CP Holiday Trains across Canada and the United States.
The train will stop at the Cobleskill Firehouse at 610 Main. St at 3:45 p.m.; the Main Street railroad crossing in Delanson at 5:15 p.m.; at Schenectady Floor Covering, 1910 Maxon Road Extension, at 6:45 p.m.; and at the Amtrak Station in Saratoga Springs at 8:45 p.m.
The train consists of 14 brightly decorated railcars, including a modified boxcar that has been turned into a traveling stage for performers.
Thousands of LED lights adorn the sides of the train.
Entertainment will be provided at each stop by Tracey Brown and the Claytones.
CP asks that attendees bring non-perishable foods or a cash donation to the train stop. All donations will be given to local food pantries. Items like infant formula, canned meat and spaghetti sauce are in particular demand.
Since the Holiday Train program first launched in 1999, it has raised $7.4 million and 3 million pounds of food.
