Two men were arrested early this morning after police say they seriously injured another person in a hate crime.

Shortly before 4 a.m., Saratoga Springs police officers responded to a call about a fight in progress on Pavilion Row, an area where many of the city’s bars are concentrated.

Shayne Richardson, 21, of Catherine St., and Luis Garcia, 23, of Brooklyn, were arrested a few minutes after 4 a.m.

Both were charged with second-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury as a hate crime and third-degree attempted assault. Police said both were arraigned and sent to the Saratoga County Jail.

The case is still under investigation.
