Gunman robs convenience store in Colonie

Colonie police are investigating an armed robbery Sunday afternoon at the Cumberland Farms at 1093 N

Colonie police are investigating an armed robbery Sunday afternoon at the Cumberland Farms at 1093 New Loudon Road.

Police say the clerk at the convenience store reported that at 2 p.m., a man came into the store holding what appeared to be a black handgun. He demanded money from the employee and fled on foot with an unknown amount of cash. No one was injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing between 170 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with white writing that may have said “Out Wit It,” tan or khaki pants, a gray wool knit hat and had gray fleece material covering a portion of his face.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Colonie Police Department at 783-2744.
