Abby Boyer scored 26 points, and Fort Plain battled back in the second half to beat Canajoharie, 50-41, in a Western Athletic Conference girls’ basketball game Wednesday night.

The Hilltoppers finished with an 18-6 free throw advantage. Haley Kilmartin went 5-for-5 from the line and scored 11 points for the Hilltoppers.

Jenelle Dillenbeck and Dainera Veeder led the Cougars with 10 points apiece. The Cougars led at the half, 26-18.

Doane Stuart beat Loudonville Christian in Central Hudson Valley League action, 26-19, behind Sam Politzi’s 10 points.

Cassidy Allen scored nine points for the Eagles, and Melissa Deeb grabbed 16 rebounds.

Mayfield overcame a two-point first quarter to beat Middleburgh, 55-46, in a non-league game.

Julie Hampton hit four threes and went 6-for-8 from the line to score 20 points for Mayfield. Alex Sheldon contributed 18 for the Panthers, and Amanda Roney and Carley Ryan topped the Knights with 21 and 15, respectively.

Boys’ basketball

Logan Sala led a trio of double-digit Canajoharie scorers with 20 points, and the Cougars held off Fort Plain for 64-61 Western Athletic Conference victory.

Dillon Veeder scored 14 points for Canajoharie, and Josh Gonzalez had 13. Kiernan Briggs was best for Fort Plain with 19 points, Eric Orologio netted 15, and Aiden VanLoan added 13.

Nick Sapienza scored 24 points, Jacob Dunkley had 10, and North Warren pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 56-45 Adirondack League win over Corinth.

Zack Shippee paced the Tomahawks with 16 points.
