Curtiss to lead Saratoga agricultural group

Dairy farmer Chuck Curtiss of Ballston has been elected president of the Saratoga County Agricultura

Dairy farmer Chuck Curtiss of Ballston has been elected president of the Saratoga County Agricultural Society, which runs the Saratoga County Fair.

He succeeds William Schwerd of Greenfield, who remains on the board of directors.

Curtiss and his wife, Darlene, run Willow Marsh Farm, which was featured by 2013 Farm Aid organizers as a prime example of an "agricultural trailblazer in upstate New York."

Tammy Ballestero of Ballston Spa was elected vice-president. She has been involved with the fair's home arts/fine arts departments for many years.

Sarah Welch of Burnt Hills was re-elected treasurer, while Jennifer Flinton of Galway was elected secretary.
