A member of the Providence Volunteer Ambulance Corps was charged Saturday with using the corps’ debit card to make more than $600 worth of unauthorized purchases, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said ambulance corps officials reported suspicious activity on the company debit card that began in September and continued until as recently as Dec. 6.

According to police, an investigation revealed that Scott Moody Jr., 19, of Providence, had been using the card to purchase gasoline and cigarettes over the course of the three months.

Moody was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and petty larceny.
