Schenectady’s furious fourth-quarter rally came up short Wednesday night, as Catholic Central held on for a 58-54 Big 10 boys’ basketball victory at Carley Gymnasium.

The Crusaders used a 21-9 third-quarter run to build a 44-29 lead heading into the final period, but the Patriots (2-2, 2-3) outscored the hosts, 25-14, in the final session to make it close.

Anthony Mack scored 17 points and blocked four shots for CCHS. Raiquis Harris scored 19 points.

For Schenectady, Keishaun Wheelings netted 19 points, and Shani Moses scored 12.

LaSalle rebounded from a scoreless first quarter and dominated the free-throw line to beat Bishop Maginn, 62-45.

The Cadets outscored the Golden Griffins, 26-10, from the line.

Jahlil Nails conected for 31 points, including five three-pointers, to propel Columbia past Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, 91-59, in the Suburban Council.

Elijah Lott (19), Austin Miller (15) and Stevie Hart (10) also scored in twin figures for the Blue Devils. Austin Nydegger poured in 25 points for the Spartans.

Ballston Spa took control with a 23-10 fourth-quarter surge and beat Colonie, 51-45.

Andre Edgerton tossed in 20 points, including 8-for-9 from the line, to lead the Scotties. Nolan Smith scored 19 for Colonie.

Queensbury evened its Foothills Council mark at 1-1 with a 65-50 win over Broadalbin-Perth.

Adam Troelstra and Keegan O’Leary tallied 15 and 14 points, respectively, for the Spartans, who are 1-2 overall. Andre Taylor tossed in 27 points for the 0-2, 3-3 Patriots.

Asa Barnhill tallied 19 points, and Keyshawn Arnold added 16 in Gloversville’s 77-52 win over Glens Falls.

Josh Gonzalez pumped in 28 points to propel Canajoharie over Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville, 58-43, in the Western Athletic Conference.

Dillon Klock topped the Wolves with 19 points.

Mekeel Christian Academy opened its season with an 85-58 victory over Duanesburg. Mano Senthil and Mike Mann scored 22 and 21 points, respectively, for the Lions. Kevin Lenehan popped in 24 for 4-1 Duanesburg.

Luke Spicer produced 14 points to lift Saratoga Catholic (4-0, 6-0) past Fort Plain (1-3, 2-4), 56-47.

Lucas VanNostrand produced 15 points and 21 rebounds to spark Mayfield over Northville, 44-43. Danny Reidell’s 23 points topped the Falcons.

In an Adirondack League game, 3-2 Corinth crushed Bolton, 63-37, behind 17 points and 13 rebounds from Robert Shippee.
