Girls' basketball: Mekeel Christian Academy tops Duanesburg

Eighth-grader Rebekkah Dean and Nicole Pigliavento hit three-pointers down the stretch as Mekeel Christian Academy edged Duanesburg, 55-52, Wednesday in a Western Athletic Conference game.

Pigliavento finished with 18 points, and Dean got 16. Duanesburg’s Rachel Gamache took game honors with 20 points.

Kaylie Fish and Kiera Taylor both scored 10 points to lead a balanced scoresheet, as Saratoga Central Catholic defeated Fort Plain, 45-35.

Dainera Vedder and Alexis Kane split 20 points to get Canajoharie past Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville, 56-19.

Julie Hampton scored 19 points to help Mayfield get past Northville, 42-36.

Madison Purcell fired in 21 points to help Catholic Central top Schenectady, 60-34, in a Big 10 game.

Selena Lott finished with 15 points, and Nia Moore added 12 to get Columbia past Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, 56-18, in the Suburban Council.

Jill Davis scored 16 points, and Kelly McLaughlin added 14 as Queensbury overwhelmed Broadalbin-Perth, 54-13, in the Foothills Council.

Skyler Girard scored 18 points, Lauren Stamatel added 16 and Lucy Tougas got 13 as Glens Falls coasted past Gloversville, 64-17, in the Foothills.

McKenna Lee Gordon, Jessica Moultrie and Tysheona Gaddy combined for 46 points as Albany Leadership School downed Middleburgh, 71-42, in a non-league game.
