School Hockey: Cretti sparks Shen past Pittsford, 6-3

Tate Cretti scored twice to lead Shenendehowa over Pittsford on Saturday, 6-3, in a non-league game.

Ben Farstad made 30 saves for the Plainsmen. Tucker Marvin and Ryan Mortka both handed out two assists. Goals were scored by Nick Young, Austin McDonough, Peter Sacks and Kyle Marr.

Shenendehowa outscored Pittsford, 4-1, in the third period.

Zach Jones made 27 saves as Saratoga Springs defeated Will­iamsville North (Section VI), 3-2, in a non-league game.

Josh Dagle and Zach Guzi scored goals 3:13 apart in the second period to put the 6-2-1 Blue Streaks ahead, 3-1.

Niskayuna/Schenectady won the consolation game of its tournament, 12-0, over Guilderland/Mohonasen/Scotia-Glenville.

Josh Kim had four goals, Matt Peretti had three scores and an assist, J.B. Hunt scored twice and assisted once and Danny Goldfarb had a goal and two assists.

James Blanchfield and Katerina Wehe combined for the shutout, making six and four saves, respectively.

Zach Dignum made 31 saves in a losing effort as Clarkstown downed Shaker/Colonie, 4-3, with three third-period goals in a non-league game.

Giovanni Malatesta and Nate McCarroll had the Jets’ goals.

Zach Watkins and John Dow scored second-period goals, and Zach Hurst made 23 saves as LaSalle edged CBA, 3-2, in a Cap­ital District High School Hockey League game.

Sean Glennon’s two goals had given the Brothers a 2-1 lead after one period.
