Boys' basketball: Mechanicville defeats Ravena in overtime

Logan Polsinello scored 34 points for Mechanicville in an 85-82 overtime win Friday night over Raven

Logan Polsinello scored 34 points for Mechanicville in an 85-82 overtime win Friday night over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk in the Colonial Council.

Mike Cannizzo added 18 points, and C.J. Tironi had 13 for the Red Raiders.

Ravena had five players in double figures, led by Michael Babcock and Jayden Feliciano, who both scored 20 points. Matt Ferriero chipped in with 14 points, David Warnken added 12 and Sky Rebeor finished with 10.

Shelton Alston and Brandon LaForest both scored 16 points to lead Cohoes to a 48-42 win over Ichabod Crane. The Riders (1-3 Colonial, 3-5 overall) were led by Seth Scarano with nine points.

Watervliet’s Issaiah Brace scored 15 points in a 47-44 win over Coble-skill-Richmondville, Dan Burns added 11, and A.J. Edge scored 10.

Cobleskill was led by Keenan Loder with 15 points and Brad Koeberle with 12.

Late in the third quarter of Scotia-Glenville’s 83-33 Foothills Council win over Glens Falls, Scott Stopera fed Joe Cremo for a layup, giving him 26 points on the night and 1,000 in his career.

Cremo is the fifth player in the boys’ program to reach the milestone.

Stopera handed out 10 assists on the night. Alex Sausville added 17 points, and Schuyler Sayles had 14.

Broadalbin-Perth ran away from South Glens Falls to win, 82-31, getting 24 points from Andre Taylor. Ryan Dingman added 18 points, and Colby Hartz had 11.

Queensbury edged Johnstown, 45-42, with 20 points from Keeghan O’Leary and 10 from Tim Voorhis. The Sir Bills got 16 points from Austin Riska.

Asa Barnhill scored 24 points to lead Gloversville to a 77-46 win over Hudson Falls. Gloversville also got 15 points from Keyshawn Arnold, 13 from Barceem Dukes and 10 from Quantel McGee.

The Tigers were led by Wyatt Gorham with 14 points and Christian Henkel with 10.

Shaker edged Ballston Spa, 73-71, with 25 points from Andrew Holmes. Seamus McHugh added 13 points for the Blue Bison, and Malik Dare had 10.

The Scotties got 19 points from Andrew Gentile, 16 from Jeremy Mendrick and 15 from Andre Edgerton.

Colonie squeaked by Mohonasen, 46-45, with 15 points from Nolan Smith and 10 from Ryan Nicholson.

The Mighty Warriors got 17 points from Chris Richardson.

Columbia’s Jahlil Nails booked 20 points in an 82-48 win over Bethlehem. Elijah Lott added 17 points in the win, and Stevie Hart had 10.

The Eagles got 15 points from Conor Morrelli and 12 from John Sica.

Saratoga Springs pulled away with a 21-10 second quarter to beat Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, 62-46. The Blue Streaks were led by Noah Arciero’s 30 points, 13 of which came in the second quarter. Sean Grecco added 15.

The Spartans got 18 points from Austin Nydegger.

Anthony Mack scored 33 points, hitting 10 of 13 free throws, to lead Catholic Central to a 75-52 Big 10 win over Albany. Malik Miller added 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Albany was led by Elijah Williams with 13 points and Cy-Mier Dace with 10.

Marcus Friend poured in 23 points to lead Bishop Maginn past Amsterdam, 67-59. Jeremy Nixon added 17 points, and Qhamarii Coleman had 16 for Bishop Maginn (2-5, 3-6).

Amsterdam (3-5, 4-6) got 23 points from Alonzo Martin and 16 from Kory Bergh.

Christian Brothers Academy’s Greig Stire scored 19 points to lead all scorers in a 67-52 win over LaSalle. The Brothers also saw Brian Renauld score 12 points and Nick Marini 11.

LaSalle’s Brandon Holmes had 11 points.

Troy’s Dyaire Holt scored 12 points in a 70-22 win over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons. Jallah Jackson added 11 points for Troy (7-1, 8-1), and Zach Radz had 10.

Bishop Gibbons was led by Jordan Igoe’s 12 points.

Saratoga Central Catholic’s Michael Naughton led a balanced attack with 11 points in a 63-41 Western Athletic Conference win over Northville.

The Falcons got 14 points from Kalob Russell.

Duanesburg (3-2, 9-2) scored a 60-36 win over Sharon Springs, led by Dylan Madison with 10 points. Tyler Bianchine tallied 19 for Sharon Springs.

Logan Sala scored 15 points, and Josh Gonzalez added 14 as Canajoharie topped Mayfield, 52-26.

Josh Orton scored 18 points to lift Waterford-Halfmoon to a 62-43 Central Hudson Valley League win over Loudonville Christian School.

Robert Shippee scored 23 points, 11 in the fourth quarter, and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead Corinth to a 76-56 Adirondack League win over Salem. Zach Shippee added 21 to for the Tomahawks, while both Blake Basmajian and Zen Baudoux added 12.
