A Schenectady man tried to take approximately 75 feet of copper piping from a house, authorities allege.

Kevin P. D’Allaird, 33, of 112 DeGraff St., faces one count each of third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief, both felonies, as well as misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.

Police say he broke into a Windsor Terrace building Jan. 4 and cut out the piping. They say he tried to hide in a corner of the basement as officers arrived, but they found and arrested him.
