A new city police recruit was sworn in Monday and will enter the police academy Wednesday, officials said.

Komieko N. Mosher, 26, of Schenectady was sworn in at City Hall. She previously was a police dispatcher in Niskayuna.

She is a graduate of Colonie Central High School and has an associate’s degree from Hudson Valley Community College. She also attended the University at Albany.

Mosher is to begin six months of training Wednesday at the Zone 5 Law Enforcement Training Academy. Once that is complete, Mosher will receive 12 weeks of supervised field training with Schenectady police officers.
