The National Weather Service in Albany has issued flood warnings, with minor flooding forecast, for Schenectady, Saratoga and Montgomery counties because of rising water in the Mohawk River.

The weather service says an ice jam is the likely cause of the rising water in the Mohawk River. The river in the city of Schenectady was 219.8 feet at 11 Sunday night and was expected to rise to 221.3 this morning. Flood stage is 220 feet. The Mohawk is predicted to fall below flood stage after 7 p.m. Monday.
