Girls' basketball: Snyder's big second half sparks Galway

Felicia Snyder scored 14 of her game-high 20 points in the second half to catapult Galway to a 50-35 victory over Mayfield in a Western Athletic Conference girls’ basketball game Tuesday night.

The Eagles jumped out to a 16-4 first-quarter lead and improved to 6-2 in WAC play, 9-3 overall.

Julie Hampton’s 13 points led the Panthers.

Galway coach Debbie Wilday picked up her 293rd career win.

Monique Britton fired in 21 points, and Kathryn Salo added 14 in Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s 49-42 win over Mekeel Christian Academy.

Lauren Archer erupted for 38 points, and Desiree Palmatier connected for 22 more as Schoharie pounded Sharon Springs, 70-18.

Lyndsey Wadsworth produced 22 points to lift Northville over Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville, 46-38.

Middleburgh sank 18 of 32 shots at the line en route to a 56-45 victory over Duanesburg.

Taylor Cater and Amanda Roney each scored 13 for the Knights, while Rachel Gamache netted 16 for the Eagles.

Kiana Patterson poured in six three-pointers and finished with 22 points to carry Troy (6-1, 7-3) over Bishop Maginn, 63-28, in the Big 10.

Also in the Big 10, Cara Waterson tossed in 34 points to propel Albany past Amsterdam, 65-26.

In the Suburban Council, Bayley Kralick scored 11 points in Guilderland’s 50-30 triumph over visiting Mohonasen.

Bethlehem jumped out to a 17-4 first-quarter lead and then held off host Colonie, 46-37, in another Suburban Council game. Nicole Riddick scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a losing effort for the Garnet Raiders.

Saratoga Springs outscored Ballston Spa, 33-10, in the first half en route to a 66-36 SC victory.

Averill Park outscored Columbia, 14-6, at the free-throw line during a 57-46 triumph.

Halle O’Brien netted 20 points, and Deirdre Schutzman contributed 14 to send Niskayuna (3-4, 3-6) over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, 42-37.

Kylie Goodbred and Bri McKinney each notched 11 points, and Hudson Falls shut out Broadalbin-Perth in both the second and third periods on the way to a 57-12 Foothills Council triumph.

Jillian Davis (20) and Nikari Carota (17) combined for 37 points to lift Queensbury over Scotia-Glenville, 46-34.

Allison Casey topped the Tartans with 11 points.

Behind Skylar Girard’s 21 points, Glens Falls defeated Johnstown, 50-36.

Hope Cerasuolo topped the Lady Bills with 20 points.

Balanced Watervliet, with eight players scoring between two and 10 points, crushed Albany Academy for Girls, 48-19, in a Colonial Council game.

De’Janairre Deas scored 20 of her game-high 25 points in the second half and added 20 rebounds to power unbeaten Holy Names (10-0) past Mechanicville, 44-34.

Bailey Kross connected for 10 points as Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk slipped past Cohoes, 34-32.

Hailee Metzold pumped in 22 points to propel Schalmont over Cobleskill-Richmondville, 38-35.

Ashley Haywood (17), Jaycee Volkmann (16) and Paige Niemeyer (16) combined for 49 points in Ichabod Crane’s 63-34 win over Lansingburgh.

Emily Parslow connected for 22 points to lead Fonda-Fultonville over Voorheesville, 57-48.

Warrensburg used a 15-2 third-quarter run to beat Corinth, 43-36, in the Adirondack League.
