Here we go again -- big chill coming tonight

A cold front is making its way into the Capital Region with temperatures expected to drop to about 1

A cold front is making its way into the Capital Region with temperatures expected to drop below zero in some spots over the next few days.

Temperatures today will fall from 30 degrees to the teens for the rest of the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight it will be in the single digits, with Saratoga Springs and Glens Falls dropping below 0 degrees.

That cold weather will continue into Tuesday with temperatures in the mid-teens during the day and 0 degrees overnight. Wednesday is not expected to reach double digits, with a high of about 8 degrees.

The National Weather Service is issuing a wind chill advisory in the Adirondacks and Western Mohawk Valley, near Herkimer County, starting at 9 p.m. tonight until 11 a.m. tomorrow.

Ending the week on Thursday and Friday, temperatures will settle in the teens. Weekend temperatures are expected to rise to more than 20 degrees with a chance of snow showers.
