Boys' basketball: Nydegger leads BH-BL to first victory

Austin Nydegger netted 32 points to catapult Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake to its first win of the seaso

Austin Nydegger netted 32 points to catapult Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake to its first win of the season, 80-68, over Bethlehem in a Suburban Council game Tuesday.

The Spartans are 1-10 in the SC and 1-12 overall.

The 1-2 punch of Jahlil Nails (27) and Elijah Lott (20) combined for 47 points to carry Columbia over Niskayuna, 73-64, in another Suburban Council matchup.

Ballston Spa drained 10 three-pointers, including five by Jeremy Mendrick, who finished with 19 points in the Scotties’ 52-49 decsion over Mohonasen.

Noah Arciero connected for 20 points to lead three double-digit scorers in Saratoga Springs’ 72-67 victory over Colonie.

Troy withstood a furious 27-point fourth-quarter from Schen­ectady and snapped the Patriots’ four-game winning streak, 79-72, in the Big 10.

Zach Radz pumped in 24 points, and Dyaire Holt netted 23 for the 10-1, 11-1 Flying Horses. Schenectady got 18 points from Tobias Holmes and 16 from Towan Hamlin.

Greig Stire connected for 12 points, and balanced Christian Brothers Academy shared the wealth, with 13 other players scoring, en route to a 63-24 win over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons.

Anthony Mack produced 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists and six steals to power Catholic Central past Amsterdam, 72-48.

Kevin Callender notched 18 points in Albany’s 63-56 triumph over host LaSalle.

Max Freeman and Seth Scar­zano combined for seven points in overtime to lift Ichabod Crane past Cobleskill-Richmondville, 75-70, in the Colonial Council.

Freeman finished with 21 points for the Riders.

Voorheesville improved to 8-1 in the Colonial Council with a 64-58 win over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, despite 34 points from the Indians’ David Warnken.

Ty’Jon Gilmore knocked down six three-pointers and finished with 28 points to power Watervliet over Lansingburgh, 50-47.

Alex Sausville poured in 30 points, Joe Cremo netted 24 and Scotia-Glenville outscored host Hudson Falls, 62-8, in the first half en route to a 96-20 Foothills Council rout.

Johnstown, paced by Jonathan Heroth (23) and Austin Riska (21), took control with a 17-6 third-quarter run and beat South Glens Falls, 68-55.

Asa Barnhill connected for 28 points during Gloversville’s 72-43 defeat of host Glens Falls.

Chris Natoli scored from underneath the basket with one second left in the second overtime to help Broadalbin-Perth clip Queensbury, 60-58.

Hoosick Falls nearly doubled up host Schuylerville, 56-32, in a Wasaren League game. Mark Hackett (18), Will Bradley (16) and Austin Pitt (11) combined for 45 Panther points.

Justin Carruthers recorded 21 points and 19 rebounds to lift Greenwich over Stillwater, 70-69.

In the Central Hudson Valley League, Johnny Dariano pumped in 20 points during Loudonville Christian’s 71-21 victory over New Lebanon.
