Malta business group announces leadership team

MALTA — The Malta Business and Professional Association has announced its executive leadership team and board of directors for 2014:

Kevin Harkins, financial professional, president; Bruce McClellan, broker, Pinnacle Realty Saratoga, first vice president; Ray Patterson, principal, Capital Consulting Group, second vice president; David Fragment, principal, Fragomeni Insurance & Financial Services Inc., treasurer; and Pamela Grandin, owner, Hunter Learning Solutions, secretary.

Laddis joins group as first cardiologist

SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Saratoga Regional Medical Group, a service of Saratoga Hospital, recently welcomed its first cardiologist, Dr. Theodoros Laddis.

Laddis has been in practice in Saratoga since 2000.

Laddis received his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester. He completed an internship and residency at University of Massachusetts Medical Center, followed by a Harvard Medical School cardiology fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

He is board certified with a subspecialty in cardiovascular disease.

Senior community honored by website

GLENVILLE — Holiday at the Atrium, an independent retirement community, recently was presented with a SeniorAdvisor Excellence Award for receiving consistently high ratings from residents and their families in 2013.

The inaugural SeniorAdvisor Excellence Award identifies the top senior living communities that have received an overall average rating of at least 4.5 stars on the site.

The award winners were recognized for having the best customer ratings and reviews out of more than 100,000 senior care providers currently on is a consumer reviews website established by A Place for Mom, the nation’s largest senior living referral service, as a way for seniors and their families to share feedback on senior living communities and services.

Judson honored as sarcoidosis expert

ALBANY — Dr. Marc A. Judson, chief of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Albany Medical Center, has been recognized by a website as one of the top sarcoidosis experts in the world based on substantial research he has done in the field., a website that evaluates researchers based on the numbers of articles published and the quality of the publications accepting the research, ranks Judson as the world’s top expert in pulmonary sarcoidosis and second-ranked in sarcoidosis.

Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease that can affect any organ in the body, most commonly the lungs, skin or eyes.

Judson has had at least 32 articles published on pulmonary sarcoidosis and 81 on sarcoidosis over the past decade.
