Union senior defenseman Mat Bodie has received an additional game suspension from ECAC Hockey for his actions at the end of Saturday's Mayor's Cup game against RPI, and three other were players were hit with one-game suspensions it was announced Monday.
Meanwhile, the conference didn't give any additional suspension time to Dutchmen coach Rick Bennett.
Bodie, already suspended for receiving a game disqualification for facemasking, got the additional game for his cross-check to the head of RPI forward Brock Higgs at the final buzzer. He will miss the games at St. Lawrence and Clarkson this weekend.
Getting one-game suspensions were Union forward Daniel Ciampini and RPI forward Ryan Haggerty and defenseman Bo Dolan. Ciampini will miss Friday's game at St. Lawrence, while Haggerty and Dolan are out Friday against Clarkson.
Bennett was suspended by the school for two games, without pay, for going after RPI coach Seth Appert. In its statement, the league said it was satisfied with the punishment Union handed out to Bennett. Appert was not penalized.
Three players were already suspended for getting game DQs for fighting. They are Union's Eli Lichtenwald and RPI's Luke Curadi and Mike Zalewski. Zalewski scored the game-winning goal late in the third period.
