A Saratoga County sheriff’s deputy re-ended a car on Sitterly Road on Monday afternoon.

Deputy John Brown, 42, was on routine patrol in a marked vehicle and “was observing traffic in the opposite lane” when he struck a 2008 Ford passenger car driven by Michael R. Cormier, 39, of Squire Lane, deputies said in a statement.

Cormier was stopped in the road, waiting to make a left turn onto Squire Lane, deputies said. The accident occurred at 2:33 p.m.

Deputies said Cormier sustained minor injuries but refused to be taken to a hospital. Brown was taken to Saratoga Hospital by the Clifton Park/Halfmoon Emergency Corps for evaluation of minor injuries.

Sgt. Brent Dupras said the department is investigating the accident
