The Siena women’s basketball team reeled off a 28-2 run between the end of the first half and the beginning of the second, snapping a 10-game losing streak with a 76-54 victory at Saint Peter’s Saturday afternoon.

Siena (7-16 overall, 2-12 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) broke a 24-24 tie, ending the first half on a 15-2 run to take a 39-26 lead at the break. The Saints continued their momentum to open the second half, scoring the first 13 points of the stanza to double up Saint Peter’s (3-20, 2-12), 52-26, and cruise to their seventh straight win over the Peacocks.

Seniors Kanika Cummings and Clara Sole Anglada paced the offense while classmate Ciara Stewart spurred the defense. Cummings led all scorers with 19 points while Sole, who had totaled just 16 points combined in her past nine games, erupted for 17 points off the bench. Stewart stood out on the defensive end, recording a career-high six steals as the Saints scored 27 points off 22 Peacock turnovers.

Kaydine Bent posted a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds for Saint Peter’s, which has lost eight straight.
