Albany International Airport is open, but don’t expect your flight to be departing today.
Southwest Airlines, US Airlines and Delta Air Lines have all canceled their remaining flights.
Southwest cancelled all flights after 9:50 a.m. At noon, US Airways canceled all remaining flights to and from Albany. Delta canceled as well.
In total, 39 arriving flights and 24 departing flights were canceled, according to Albany International Airport.
Airlines are trying to rebook passengers, but it’s not yet clear when flights will resume.
Delta said it would resume flights at 12:30 p.m. Friday, and US Airways said it would try to resume flights in the morning.
It was a bad day to have to cancel: more than 4,500 passengers were schedule to depart today, according to the airport, and another 4,500 are scheduled to depart tomorrow.
The airport had earlier warned passengers to come early because so many seats were booked. Airport officials attributed the increase to the start of school vacation week — which technically starts when school ends Friday.
Airport officials said the airport will remain open today for diverted planes and aircraft emergencies.
