OSSINING — A Schenectady woman visiting her husband at Sing Sing prison found herself under arrest, accused of passing him marijuana during a visit, state police said.
Ivory Horton, 33, is accused of passing her husband Michael Horton the marijuana during a visit at the prison Sunday, state police said today.
Exactly how the marijuana was passed was not clear, but police said it was found on the inmate during a post-visit search. Ivory Horton allegedly admitted to passing the marijuana, police said.
Ivory Horton was charged with one count of second-degree promoting prison contraband, a misdemeanor, and violation unlawful possession of marijuana.
Michael Horton, then 21, was convicted in Albany County Court of the April 2001 shooting of two teenagers in Albany, records show. Both teens survived. Now-33, he is about 13 years into a 32-year state prison sentence.
Ivory Horton was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Town of Ossining Court next month.
