Hearings on historic Adirondack restorations postponed

Hearings on historic Adirondack restorations postponed

The Adirondack Park Agency public hearing on plans to restore two historic fire towers has been post

The Adirondack Park Agency public hearing on plans to restore two historic fire towers has been postponed until Wednesday, April 2.

The hearing was to be held Wednesday evening (or tonight) in Ray Brook, but was postponed because of the storm expected to dump more than a foot of snow across the Adirondacks.

The new hearing will still be at 6 p.m. at the park agency headquarters in Ray Brook.

The proposed plan would establish Hurricane Mountain and St. Regis Mountain Fire Tower Historic Area unit management plans, and provide for the two towers to be restored and re-opened to the public.
