An ARC assistant manager stole disabled residents’ money, raiding their allowances to buy things for herself, Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman said.
Samantha Cross, 31, pleaded guilty Monday to falsifying business records, a misdemeanor, and admitted to stealing $1,503.
She agreed to pay back the money.
Cross said she bought cellphones, calling cards and iTunes gift cards for herself between November 2011 and November 2012, according to a press release issued by Schneiderman.
She was fired from ARC and will appear on an Medicaid exclusion list, which means she cannot be employed by any Medicaid provider, Schneiderman said.
The Attorney General’s Medicare Fraud Control Unit handled the case.
