Former Assemblyman George Amedore issued a statement on Monday hinting to his plans to run against Sen. Cecilia Tkaczyk, D-Duanesburg, in November.
Amedore, a Republican who lives in Rotterdam, previously challenged Tkaczyk for the 46th Senate District seat in 2012. Following a mid-level state appeals court ruling, Tkaczyk claimed victory by 35 votes.
Now Amedore says in a statement that he expects to make an announcement on his plans “soon.”
“The people of Montgomery, Schenectady, Albany, Greene and Ulster counties need true leadership and a strong voice,” Amedore said in the statement. “The do as I say, not as I do culture in Albany is an insult to the hard-working people of this district, who deserve much more. A formal announcement will be forthcoming.”
