Pamela J. Clarke will be the new head of school at The Doane Stuart School, the school’s board of trustees announced Monday.
The appointment will take effect in July.
Clarke currently heads the Trevor Day School, an independent school for about 800 students in Manhattan.
She previously served in a similar capacity at the St. Paul Academy and Summit School in St. Paul, Minn., and the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
Clarke is a board member of the New York State Association of Independent Schools, the Harlem Academy and Ocean Classroom. She holds master’s degrees in counseling and consulting psychology from Harvard University and in classics from Yale University. She earned a baccalaureate degree in ancient Greek from Vassar College and is a graduate of the Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, Pa.
