A city man violated an order of protection and held a woman for two hours at her residence in February, authorities said.

Brian K. Patterson, 51, of Crane Street, faces charges of first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, as well as misdemeanor petty larceny, unlawful imprisonment and criminal mischief.

Patterson is accused of kicking in the door of the Crane Street residence, grabbing the woman by her face and mouth on Feb. 16 and not allowing her to leave for about two hours, all while he threatened to kill her if she called for help, according to papers filed in court.
