State police targeting drivers who were speeding or failing to move over for stopped police or service vehicles issued a total of 46 tickets in Schenectady County on Saturday.
Ten of those tickets were for speeding, state police said, and 30 were for failing to move over. They said they also arrested a drunken driver.
Troopers from the state police Princetown and Cobleskill stations participated.
The state’s “Move Over” law of 2011 requires drivers passing stopped police and emergency vehicles to move out of the lane closest to the stopped vehicle. The law has since been expanded to include stopped tow trucks and utility service vehicles.
